Bluetooth mouse requires a sensor from your laptop. Some laptops (especially expensive ones) already have Bluetooth sensors so this will ease up the usage of usb ports. The Bluetooth mouse can even function if the sensors are blocked. The Bluetooth technology is rising up and starting to be used in a lot of mouses. Bluetooth devices have a range around 33 feet (10 meters). RF wireless mouse for laptop to function properly needs two things: a radio transmitter and a radio receiver. The transmitter in most cases is inside the mouse so the mouse records its motion and buttons which are being clicked and then remits the information to the receiver through radio signals. It is recommended to have an FR wireless mouse because it requires less power, FR components are cheaper and are lightweight.

Disadvantages of a Wireless Mouse For Laptop

You have to be prepared meaning you should always have an extra pair of batteries for your mouse nearby in case the batter dies.  Although there are some wireless mouses that have a battery status LED indicator which glows red when the batter is at its end so you do not get caught with a dead battery. Or at least it decreases that chance. There is another disadvanatage but only if you have kids. Since kids have a tendancy to pick up things and hide them, or move them, you will need to put your wireless mouse somewhere safe. Unless you want to look for it around the house when you want to use your lapotp.
